Effective immediately, Southern California City of Inglewood unanimously passed a measure that prevents landlords from:
1) Raising rents by more than 5% and;
2) Evicting tenants for any reasons other than criminal activity or drug use in the rental property.
This is for a 45-day period, but they also have the option to extend it a year.

Per the ordinance, the following are exempt from the moratorium:
1) government owned housing units
2) housing units whose rents are controlled, regulated, or subsidized by any governmental unit, agency or authority.
3) accommodations motels, hotels, inns…as long as occupancy is less than 30 days
4) units built after Feb 1, 1995
5) single-family houses and condominiums, commercial units
6) hospitals, convents, monsteries, extended care facilities, convalescent homes, nonprofit home for the aged, or dormitory operated by and educational institution
7) any other units exempted by Costa-Hawkins
