PAC Updates

8/27/20 | Urge Newsom to Stop AB 1436!

Please send the message to the right to the governor and let him know how the eviction moratorium has impacted your livelihood. Let him hear your voice and what you are going through. Let Newsom know it’s not just the tenants who need help! He is about to agree to an extension of the law prohibiting evictions. This AB 1436 could also require us to provide even more “free rent” until April 2021, and then they could extend for another period of time.  Click to Read More

6/23/20 | Encourage a NO Vote on SCA2 Property Tax Increase

Proposition 58 was approved by voters in 1986 with 75.7% of the vote. It provided for certain property transferred between parents and children to be excluded from reassessment. Senate Constitutional Amendment 2 (SCA 2) has been misleadingly named, “The Home Protection for Seniors, Severely Disabled, Families, and Victims of Wildfire or Natural Disasters Act.”

If the name was truthful it would be called the “Repeals Prop. 58 and Raises Taxes on Property Transferred Between Parents And Children Act.”  If the name was truthful it would be called the “Repeals Prop. 58 and Raises Taxes on Property Transferred Between Parents And Children Act.”  Click to Read More

6/19/20 | Senate Proposal to Force 14 Year Rent Deferral

A new proposal is now taking shape in the state senate by senate majority leader, Bob Hertzberg. They are calling it a “10-year plan” but it is really a 14-year plan that would allow housing consumers affected by the virus to take up to 2034 to pay all back rent owed.  Sign AOA’s Petition #2, asking Governor Gavin Newsom to please immediately issue monthly RENTAL VOUCHERS paid immediately and directly to housing providers for April and each month thereafter during this state of emergency to those renters who “qualify” as losing their source of income caused by COVID-19!  Click to Read More

6/16/20 | Lawsuit to End State’s Eviction Ban

Pacific Legal Foundation has filed a lawsuit to open the courts for evictions. Like millions of Americans, individual landlords have been thrown into financial turmoil by the pandemic and resulting lockdowns. Many operated on thin margins even before the pandemic, with mortgages, maintenance, and other expenses to pay. For landlords to recover and continue to provide housing, they must be allowed to make profitable use of their property.  Click to Read More

6/9/20 | Ready to sue those politicians who have stolen our constitutional property rights?

Are you ready to tell them “enough is enough” and sue those power hungry, immoral and disgusting politicians who have stolen our constitutional property rights? Well then, let’s do it now! Click to Read More

4/15/20 | AOA COVID-19 Updates | Lower Your Rental Income by 25%??

That’s what a legislative proposal called AB 828, if passed, would require you to do for every tenant living your apartment. You read it right! This bill would even give judges power to change your rental agreement and tell you what rents to charge.  Click to Read More

4/9/20 | [Rent Vouchers] URGENT – PLEASE TAKE ACTION TODAY

If the Government and the State will do what we are requesting, most of the current problems that have been created for housing will be solved for both owners and tenants.  Click to Read More
