What Will the Trash Monopoly Ballot Initiative Do?
-
It will repeal the exclusive franchise and stop their price-gouging monopoly.
-
It will repeal the requirement that a hauler be a union company or have a “Labor Peace Agreement” with a union.
-
It will remove forced recycling and fines; voluntary recycling will still be encouraged.
-
It will protect the business owner against fees or penalties for not participating in the city’s program.
All haulers will still be required to meet State Environmental requirements.
We NEED 62,000 original signatures from registered voters in the City of Los Angeles to put this initiative on the ballot to repeal the corrupt trash monopoly. The petition is in English and Spanish, as required by the LA City Clerk, and each petition is 22 pages with space for 100 signatures. What Else Can Be Done?
As you may know, in addition to the Ballot Initiative, AOA has filed a lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles on behalf of landlords and business owners. As you can imagine, lawsuits do cost money. Donate today to help keep the fight going to benefit you, fellow landlords and business owners.
If you have experienced an outrageous price hike, please fill out a declaration, and send it to Dan Faller at AOA, 6445 Sepulveda Blvd Ste 300, Van Nuys, CA 91411 or email it to [email protected]. We need as many of these declarations as possible to help win the lawsuit that AOA has filed against the city for this totally unfair and unethical trash monopoly.
Contact the Los Angeles Sanitation Customer Care Center 24/7 to lodge your complaint about this program. Their phone number is (800) 773-2489.
Please make sure you contact the mayor and your councilpersons regarding your troubles due to this new law. If you have already contacted them, contact them again – let them know this fight is not going away!
