In a credit to the determined campaign run by our AOA PAC, as well as the contributions of money, time, and outreach of our members as well as other organizations throughout the state, Weinstein’s effort to destroy all protections for rental housing providers was rejected by over 60% of California voters.

Prop 34 is still too close to call, but if it passes, Weinstein won’t be able to use his nonprofit healthcare money to finance his political ambitions in the future.

With anti-landlord propaganda seeming to have stacked the deck against us, we still prevailed. While the billboards, ads and yard signs (spotted everywhere!) went a long way in raising awareness of the dangers of this proposition, credit also belongs to you, our housing providers, the best day-to-day, year-after-year, living proof that landlords are not greedy, faceless corporations, but real people who conscientiously take good care of your properties and care about the well-being of your renters. You deserve this win!

As for the members who relentlessly nagged friends, neighbors and strangers into putting thousands of yard signs on display – God bless you all!

The AOA Political Action Committee is currently rebuilding our war chest to ensure that we are able to continue to advocate for your property rights and challenge local or state laws that might violate your property rights under the United States Constitution.
